big news

I've gone and started a new blog. Come and be a part of my quarter life crisis!

pressure

Pretty much everything about summer is awesome except mosquitoes. It sucks when you know there is a mosquito in the room when you're about to sleep. You have to kill it if you don't want to be an all night open bar, and doing so takes on a whole new form when you take melatonin, which I do now every night. Melatonin works pretty well and I usually mellow out pretty quickly. Tonight was no exception, except my pleasant reverie was rudely interrupted by an impromptu parasite party on my neck. A bump rose out of my neck and my glazed expression curled into a sneer. I scanned the room and spotted the bloated culprit. I knew time was not on my side: with every second that passes my motor skills are diminishing. Fortunately, even in my medicated haze I was able to clumsily swat the bastard into the desk, where I finished it off, leaving only a faint trace of blood (probably my own). Another happy ending.

btw if anyone hasn't heard I'm moving to California.

Tonight a trick or treater asked me if I "go to Wootton". I'm thinking either I need to grow a beard or get fat again. It'd actually be interesting to see which one would take longer.

It's been a good summer. One of these days, I'll move out of the house, and maybe get a job that requires working long hours. Maybe I'll get serious about life.

Til then, here's to feeling good all the time!

One of the benefits I anticipate from being old is lording it over young people with my rambling recollections. I can see myself 50 years from now talking about how awesome the NBA on NBC theme song was, and nobody will have any idea what I'm talking about except fellow old people, who'll cackle in agreement.

But for now a lot of you should remember this little ditty (not the Metallica song, the NBC song):

I mean if you watched basketball in the 90s and you don't get a little jolt of excitement watching that clip when those NBC peacock laser lines start drawing and that cheesy synthetic intro starts kicking into gear and they start panning over the arena...well I don't know what to tell you.

This one is a hilariously over-the-top montage intro to a Bulls-Jazz Finals game, topped off by the greatest theme song in the history of man.
